Sunshine Hydrangea

This is a set I made on my ruffles kick last week.  I meant for this post to go up last Sunday- eek!  Not sure where the time went!  Thanks to all of you for your well wishes to Cad. :)  Don't forget to enter Cad's CANDY GIVEAWAY.  He's taking entries until Thursday the 26th.
Honestly this is the last hydrangea for a little while, but it is just SO HAPPY.  Every time I clean it and put it away I have another idea and have to drag it out all over again. :)
No nekkid envies here. :)  The vine might not be in the hydrangea vein, but again so stinkin' happy!  I'm hosting some family in a few minutes, but I will update this post later with the inks, papers, 'n such.  I pinky-swear!!
In the meantime, does anyone know what these are?  Good bugs or bad bugs?  They are eating a plant, so I might say bad, but then again caterpillars turn into butterflies so...

Make sure you make something fun today, do something fun today, or take a funny picture at least!!!

My bug-less bouquet is on tables here:

  1. I'm sad to see the hydrangea go for awhile...they are breathtaking on your cards. Your vibrant colors for them and the flow of the ribbon resonate such HAPPINESS!! :)
Those cute little bugs are Red Milkweed Beetles..love the bright red!

  4. Hi Moriah! I love those hydrangeas! Where can I get this stamp set? It's gorgeous!

I think what you have there is Japanese Beetles. They are BAD BAD BAD! They totally obliterated our knock-out rose bushes. You can buy a bait bag at Lowe's which helps but the only thing to knock out the problem is to by an insectide (called 7 something??) which is also found at Lowes.

  5. What lovely bright summery cards you've created. I would not have thought of doing a hydrangea in those colours but they look lovely.

  7. Good morning Moriah,

Beautifully bright and sunny cards, the hydrangea done in orange is so very striking and complemented beautifully by the black-and-white ruffled ribbon.

I have absolutely no idea what the bugs are, so good guys or bad guys I can't say, but they look happy guys.

Thank you so so much for sharing the lovely 'Summer Blooms' with us at Penny Black and More this month.

  8. But we LOVE your hydrangea cards!! These are lovely with the ruffly trim!

I'm not sure about the bugs. Might have to do some searching. The Japanese beetles that we have in IN are a bluish green color and they are quite nasty, but I have never seen them in red... If I find out, I'll let you know!
