Thermos'

Last Thursday I shared a Throwback Thursday card and I thought I'd do the same thing again this week!  A couple months back I did some much needed cleaning of my studio and found these cards.  I had made them after a completely different (and still oh so needed) studio cleaning when I came across the leftover parts from a class I ran at my previous church.

I had forgotten that I even had this set of stamps!  I'm soooo digging them out from my stash.  Maybe blues/greens or yellow/blues this time. Maybe I'll quiz my guy friends for their favorite color.  Nah, I'll ask my nephews.  They have a laundry list of color combos!  We have had extensive conversations about favorite colors, color choices, what are good colors for certain things.  They really are naturals at color theory!  I bet they will have lots to offer to this conversation. ;-)

What color combo is speaking to you right now?  Have you used this set?  Send me a link or tag me on Instagram (@fuzzyslippersdesigns) so I can see what you created!  I need the inspiration!!!

Father's Day Throwback

Thought I'd share a Throwback Thursday of sorts today!  I made this trifold AGES ago and realized I don't think I ever shared it here.  I've been crushing on all things nautical for a bit now.  Can't believe that bug has bitten me!  I used to just completely ignore nautical goods, but now I totally gravitate towards them.

Man I made oodles of these trifold cards back in the day.  I think I should play around with them again though.  They are lovely and make it so easy to use the great big sentiments for a focal point (and then you don't have to worry about an inside sentiment).

As usual, I can't remember the stamp company these images came from.  I had borrowed the set from my crafty friend, so if you really want to know- ask and I can ask my friend if she still has them. :-)

Have a great Thursday!

Belated Father's Day

Well, Father's Day was ages ago already, but this is a creation ages in the making so its all good. :)

I stamped and colored these Amuse(?) images years ago.  Lit-er-al-ly YEARS.  Like 5 or 6 of them!  They sat in the scraps bucket patiently waiting for me to pick them a la the toys from The Land of Misfit Toys.  The happy ending came for these images just like it came for those toys though.  :)

***Side note, I am a HUGE Christmas movie addict.  I LIVE for the Hallmark movie marathons at Christmas.  Well, I saw last week that they will be running a Christmas in July movie marathon beginning on July 4th.  For all you Christmas junkies- you are welcome. ;D***

This card got sold to our guidance counselor to give to her husband at Father's Day this year.  She commented that she just loved the colors and the image.  Yay!  That's what it is all about.  Bringing smiles through handmade cards.  Makes me happy just thinking about it. :)

Don't forget to stop by on Saturday (probably late in the day) for a super fun top secret reveal.  You'll be glad you did!!!

Father's Day Froggin'

We have a shared pond in our backyard, boy I can tell you that the frogs have bunches to say these days!  Lots of talking a dawn & dusk. :) All their noise inspired these Father's Day cards.

This Unity image was a present to myself last winter. :) I figured since I had broken out my Copics for some Mother's Day cards, I'd use them on some Father's Day cards before putting them away.  LOL!

I'm really tickled with how these came out, especially the overalls!  These two are going in the pile to bring to work to sell.  I sold out of almost all my Mother's Day goods when I brought them in the week before the big day and folks asked me about doing the same for Father's Day cards.  We also have a bridal shower coming up, so I've gotta get crackin' on some shower/wedding cards too. :)

What crafty stuff have you been up too lately?

Happy Father's Day (early)

This past weekend we celebrated a bunch of family days- belated Mother's Day, belated youngest nephew's birthday, early SIL birthday, and *drumroll* early Father's Day!  I thought I might share the card I made for my FIL with y'all today.  :)  (Phew- all caught up until July, I think!)

These are the goodies I got from Charlie at The Hen's Den and I knew right away they'd be perfect for Father's Day.  You might at first look and say, "But I see flowers and lace!".  There is so much more on this set!!!

I cut the card base so that it was 4 1/4" X 4 1/4", then cut the white & blue paper 4 1/8" X 4 1/8", and finally the golden mustard paper was cut 4" X 4".  The layers were simply stacked and adhered together using Score-tape.

The stickers were used cause they all describe my FIL.  He's a happy guy, who loves to tell stories, is willing to try anything, and we all know we are loved.  :)  I totally lifted Carolyn's confetti idea using the enamel dots.  Love how it all came together- and so quickly too!!!
