Snowmen and Hot Cocoa

It's not really cold and wintry today, but since we are going to "Deck the Halls" here at my abode, it seemed like the seasonal thing to share. :-)

These are from a recent Etsy sale I had at my shop.  The gal wanted 8 snowman themed hot cocoa sleeves, BUT they had to all be boy-ish.  No pink, no bows, no sparkle.  Kinda tricky with paper crafts.  I hope she, and the boys, like them!

They were a great opportunity to use my jumbo bag of snowflake buttons that were an impulse purchase last year.  It was fun to make these, especially since I watched/listened to "Christmas with Holly" on the Hallmark Channel whilst I worked on them.  I really like that movie!  It is just so sweet!!!

I'm off to manage the Christmas Chaos!!!  Wish me luck!

Snowy 3x5 Opportunity!

Well, Thanksgiving has come and gone already! Where does the time go?!? Ours was a wonderful long weekend spent with lots of family, friends, and (needless to say) food. :)  Our house is tricked out for Christmas thanks to my DH's family and our good friends the Hakala's and Wysocarski's (ask Erin for her chocolate chip cookie recipe- they are awesome!)

Now that it is December (SERIOUSLY!!!!), time to get those cards made and sent.  It's crunch time people.  What's that?  Got all your cards made?  Fabulous, but do you have all your gifts ready?  You know, those last minute need something kinda gifts?  I'm here to help! :)

You can make 15 Cards at my class on December 14th from 10-12 at Ink About It in Westford.  5 of each of the 3 designs you see above.  If you can't make the class, you can always order a kit.  I'll cut and stamp everything for you, so all you have to do is color, assemble, and package. :)

These cards would make great thank you notes for all your Christmas gifts, or add a couple snowflake sequins to cover any holly and these make great winter birthday cards come January!

Can't wait to see you on December 14th!

Valentine's Revisited

Valentine's came and went, but I thought I'd do a quick recap. :)   These cake balls are a valentine take on these balls I made a couple years ago.  The fam got the job of eating these.  These weren't as good as the peppermint ones, IMHO, but the peeps seemed to like them so all was good. :)

I got together with some gals at work and made a few different valentine cards.  Here is a valentine take on this card.  Aren't these pink snowbanks soooo stinkin' cute!  Speaking of snowbanks...

The pre-valentine blizzard left us with over 2 feet of snow.  Would you believe most of it has melted in my backyard!?!  The mountain in front is still there.  The entire state was shutdown and a driving ban was in place for something like 48 hours.  It was AWESOME!  Not having to go anywhere or do anything was kinda fun.  DH and I went out after the storm to throw snowballs and act like kids.  Apparently when I wasn't looking my body got a little older- I manged to twist my knee playing in the snow!  I'm way better now, but how pathetic!

Hope you are enjoying your Wednesday where ever you are and that you have something silly to smile about. :)

Hugs,

Hi Frosty

Are you sitting down?  I have actually posted 2 posts this week!!!  Here is another set of cards made from the paper set I won from Echo Park.  We are hoping to be able to get a flight up to see part of the Arctic Circle this week, I'll be sure to say hi to Frosty if I see him. :)
Another set of clean and simple cards, but given that I gave myself 2 hours (after prepping) to get 25 cards done, they had to be easy to assemble.  I can't recall who makes the snowman right now, but the ink is Chalk- Lime Pastel, the card base is Memory Box, and the scallop die is from My Favorite Things.
DH is working this morning, but when he gets back later we are hoping to see some of AK.  The days are LONG right now, like 16 hours of daylight long.  Between the long days and the time difference (which will make me a morning person unless I adjust) it'll make for lots of time to see all the beauty!  I'm hoping to also go to the University of Alaska Museum of the North.  I came across the suggestion from this blog.  Isn't Blogland a great place?!?!

Enjoy some sunshine and warm weather today, if you can.  We'll be seeing Frosty before we know it! :)

Snowy/Chewy Valentine

It's another fabulous Top Tip Tuesday!  This week our challenge to you is to show off your valentine creations.
Aren't these a fun!!!  The "snowman" is Eclipse gum. :)  A Stamp Club friend showed me how to make these back in December.  A Pinterest inspired creation, so by default I made something seen on Pinterest.  Whoo-hoo!
I made four of these, so each gal in our room gets one for Valentine's Day.  I wanted each one to look a little different, but I don't know which one should go to which gal!
I think I may put them all on the table and have to gals decide who gets which. :)  Profile in courage, I am. LOL!
All the wonderful embellies came from this Paper Bakery kit.  They have the most delicious kits!!!!!
Then I just had to make one more (these are addictive!) that seemed like a romantic one.  I used it as a thank you for a gal who made a purchase from my Etsy store. :)

Snow Business

We are predicted to have some precipitation tomorrow, but no worries it is only rain. :)  I've been on a winter/Christmas kick while the corgi has been recovering.  I'm probably going to bore y'all with my winter themed creations for the next few posts. ;)
Being that poochie has been recovering and wasn't able to move around for himself, I was kinda trapped at home for a week.  Trying to look on the bright side, I went "shopping" in my stash.  I musta made this card ages ago and had enough to make a bunch more all ready to go in a kit I made for myself to "finish later".  Well, it was "later". LOL!
The card base is Memory Box (I get to take classes from Dave this Friday and Saturday. Eeeek!), the grey is Bazzill, ink is StazOn, sentiment is Amuse, Stickles for the snow, but that is all the info I have.  The snowmen were from a 12x12 paper that was a grid of these fella I cut apart and popped with foam tape.  The snowflake stamp is from who-knows-where.  When I put a most of my cling sets in CD cases I sorted them by theme rather than company and so all my snowflakes are together. :)  Clearly this was done before I began blogging. Hee-hee!

If you know the paper or stamp company, pretty please share in my comments!  These are uber fun and easy cards and I'd love for folks to know what was used so they can make the cards too!

I've gotten out my wellies and headed over here:

Snow Day Special

In case you hadn't heard, New England is under about 30+ inches of frozen white precipitation.  I LOVE SNOW!!!!!  Not sure why.  I don't ski, skate, or snowshoe.  It's just magical to watch snow blanket things.  Then there's the way that the world stops speeding at full tilt when it snows.  People slow down.  Folks that are usually strangers help each other shovel and push cars that are stuck.  It's really nice.

To celebrate my love of snow, I got a head start on my Christmas cards.  Yup, I am that kooky that I'm already starting my cards.

I put on my snow pants and pulled my sled over to these playgrounds:

Open for Snow?

At Top Tip Tuesday, we're hosting an open challenge this week!  You may share any new crafty creation for a chance to win fun prizes. :)
I went a little funky with my colors this time around.  This is another 10 minute card using stuff from my stash.  The snowman image was one of a bunch that I stamped and colored over the summer and the rest of the stuff was in my pile of scraps.  Love it when a mess pays off! :)

No snow here yet, but I'm off to do a snow dance!  Have a great Tuesday everyone. :)

Papertrey Blog Hop!

Papertrey's Blog Hop called for making something inspired by your holiday decor. Originally I was going to do something with presents, a tree, or lights. After my eldest nephew Jack drew this picture, his uncle (my husband) and his grandparents voted that the drawing should be the inspiration piece. Can you believe that my nepew is only in Kindergarten and drew these fabulous snowmen and snowflakes!!! It was easy to decide to use Holiday Button Bits since it is my favorite set this season. You would have thought Jack had seen the set, but he was inspired by the book Snowflake Bentley and some cool "holiday specs" that make images of snowmen when you look at holiday lights. They are pretty cool! I used the snowflake from Vintage Picnic to make the background. I stamped everything with Memento black and used a Memory Box card for the base with Bazzill paper for the next layer. I colored the snowman with Prisma pencils and added a little bling with Spica pens on the nose and twig arms. Thanks for stopping by and please leave a comment for me or for Jack. I'll be sure to pass along comments from all of Jack's fans!
P.S. Thanks also to my friend Jeff who took the photo for me tonight!
