Dragonfly sympathy

This dragonfly is one of my favorites because it's so lovely and easy to color.  Clean and simple is tricky for me, but I've been practicing.  It's all about the layering for me on this one.  I think that helped me step away from the bling and flowers. :)
These are the Copics I used to color this Magenta stamp.  I actually remembered to post this for a change. :)

Hope this first project from the mini stash was inspiring.

Don't forget to stop by Top Tip Tuesday for this week's tip and challenge.  Carol is hosting a great tut on word shape books!  There are prizes from TTT and from Carol!!!!   Use a sentiment, make a work shape book, or leave a tip and you could win a prize from these cool sponsors...

Star Date 1.18.11

The Craft Room... the Final Frontier. These are the escapades of the starship Fuzzy Slippers. Its continuing mission: to explore the strange concept of completed projects, to seek out new supplies and new blog inspiration, to boldly go where I have never gone before - a clean craft area!

Seriously, my mission this week is to see how many things I can make from this:
And this too....
I cleaned my studio, I mean cleaned for me anyway.  The studio is the place projects have gone to die lately.  I have a ton of supplies here and half made projects that I can't remember what they were!!!  So I'm going to see what I can make from what I have in these piles.
At least I have a bunch of colored images to work with on this.  Time spent this summer coloring may pay off. LOL!  Hope you enjoy my weeks challenge.  I'm shuffling off to the salt mine studio to see what I can cobble together.  Stay Tuned. :)

Ooo-ooo, while you are waiting- would you pretty please vote for me over at Lamb Around??? I am so honored that Fuzzy Slippers has been nominated for Best in Show *blush* and now it's up to the viewers to vote for me.  As they say in Hollywood, "it's an honor to be nominated", but gosh it'd be pretty cool if I got some votes too. :)

Snow Day Special

In case you hadn't heard, New England is under about 30+ inches of frozen white precipitation.  I LOVE SNOW!!!!!  Not sure why.  I don't ski, skate, or snowshoe.  It's just magical to watch snow blanket things.  Then there's the way that the world stops speeding at full tilt when it snows.  People slow down.  Folks that are usually strangers help each other shovel and push cars that are stuck.  It's really nice.

To celebrate my love of snow, I got a head start on my Christmas cards.  Yup, I am that kooky that I'm already starting my cards.

I put on my snow pants and pulled my sled over to these playgrounds:

It's a Squall this time

If you came via Top Tip Tuesday, Welcome!  Glad to have you stop by.  Feel free to browse around and let me know what you think. ;)
There was a flurry of thanks last week and now it's developed into a squall! :)
If you've been here before you know when I get on a roll I tend to bang out a bunch of cards.
Carpe the crea-tiv-i-tay!
Once I got done with the big snowflake cards I had made some nice progress, but I also knew I needed more thank you cards so I kept going while the mojo was flowing. :)
I used the same kraft card base stamped with snowflakes and the rest of the paper scraps left over from this years gingerbread card and then went to town using other scraps from past projects.  What can I say, I'm actually kinda lazy creative and didn't want to have to put any of the scraps away. LOL!
Using the same (sorta) template, all the cards have an Amuse snowflake stamped on a punched cardstock and layered.  They all have ribbon tied on the side (this ribbon was from a gift package I got- "free" ribbon is the best!).
I went over the snowflake with a glitter pen and copic T-1 to give it a little umph.  Glitter is AWESOME in any format. :)

Here's a couple cards where I didn't have enough of the scraps to make the cards identical, but I had enough "stuff" to make them fun.  It's so easy to get lost playing with all the pieces until that "eureka" moment, not that I know anything about getting lost in my studio. *wink*

Last one!  I can't believe you stayed with me through all this!  How 'bout one last pic?  A group shot maybe?
Thanks to all of you wonderful folks who dropped by today.  Please let me know what you think of this little "snowstorm" or if you have any questions about what I used.  Don't forget to enter your creation at TTT!

I've tunneled through the snow to party here:

My Top 5 Fav Posts of 2010

A friend of mine and I were chatting just before Christmas about how sometimes we look back at things we made in the past and think "eeewww- what was I thinking".  I have to say I tend to do that to myself A LOT.  Just this week though I have been inspired by fellow bloggers who are looking back at 2010 and posting their favorite projects from the year.  What a great idea and a great way to remind myself that I have made some "stuff to be proud of" this past year. :)

TOP 5 FAVORITE POSTS OF 2010
(in no particular order)

I'm tickled with all the color I used on this one. :)

I had fun coloring this card.
I made something that's blue and I LIKE IT.  LOL!
Also this was one of my first altered items posts. :)

I colored this card all by myself and it ended up looking exactly like I had imagined it in my little noggin!! That almost never happens.

My first post to Tablescape Thursdays.  Such an inspiring place to visit with so many sweet and inspiring bloggers!

And One Honorable Mention
(I can't even follow my own rules! LOL!)
This one is a shout out of thanks to Sunny over at Life in Rehab.  She was so sweet blogged about my blog, which still makes me blush.  How cool is blogland?!?!?! :)

This post turned out to be harder that I originally thought.  What a walk down memory lane this was!  I stopped to read the comments from all of you kind readers and ended up hopping over to check out some of your newest creations. I did try to comment on a bunch too. You are all so talented!  I hope you have been inspired to reflect on all the talent you shared either on your blog, or more importantly, with friends & family.  Take a moment and be proud of yourself- you deserve it!

I'm counting down with folks here:

Flurry of thanks

There's a solid chance you got some fun gifts last month (can you believe that was "last month" already?!?).  Here are a few of the thank you cards I sent out. :)
I used the same big snowflake on all of these cards and the same kraft card base.  The card base has a stamped snowflake background in brown.
I used papers left over from making my gingerbread cards and some pre-cut 4x4 paper I had gotten ages ago on a whim. :)
I think it's easier to do cards like these in an assembly style.  I made all the bases and then played around with the scrap pieces to see how many of a given style I could get created.  Then I go to town with the glue, ribbon, and the glitter pen (on the snowflake, though it doesn't show in these pics).

What helps you get a bunch of cards done?

I've shoveled a path to party here:

Winter Resolutions

Greetings Everyone!  Hope you had a great holiday week, I know my DH and I had a wonderful time in Key West.  Our time there this past week really got us thinking about 2011 and how to incorporate the "Conch Republic" lifestyle into our lives.  Folks are so happy and friendly (it must be why Harry Truman spent so much time there), why not work on having more happy and friendly times?!?

This photo of the "beginning of Route 1" seemed to be a good way to begin the year and mark my (winter) resolutions (the summer ones will be posted some time around June 16th when school gets out. LOL!).

So here goes:
1.  Go to bed by 10:00 each night. I'm really going to try this one, but it'll be tough for me because I am more of a night person.
2.  Walk my dog at least 2 times a week. It's good for me and the dog! :)
3.  Spend at least 30 minutes 2 times a week in my "studio".  I have this stuff I should use it!!!!
4.  Eat fish at least once a week.  It's easy to cook, we both love it, and it's good for you- trifecta right there!

I'll keep y'all posted on how I'm succeeding/failing.  What are your resolutions?  Do you think you will be able to keep them?
