Teacups, Teacups, Teacups

This image is a favorite of mine.  I went gonzo last spring and colored oodles of these teacups. Seriously, I made at least 20 of these I think.  What can I say? It was a REALLY LONG COLD SNOWY WINTER here in New England and I had to do something to bring color into those very wintry white days. Funny how bad last winter was considering I've worn flip-flops multiple times this past February. Mid-50's and 60's is like 80 degree weather up here! Hope we won't be paying for this with a cold wet summer- or worse a ridiculously hot drought-filled summer!

I sold some of them at work, sent some of them to family/friends, and loaded the rest into my Etsy shop.  All the teacup cards in my shop have had sentiments for Mother's Day added to the inside.

They were wicked fun to color!  Each set had a different personality emerge as the color combos were filled in on each cup.  Sometimes it is just fun to color like when you were a kid.  It is even better when you are a grownup and have really cool supplies to use for the coloring!!! My Copics sure beat my marker 8 pack from my childhood. 😉

I didn't have anything in mind when I colored them, so it was a fun scavenger hunt of sorts to find papers and embellishments that went with each set. Really helped me throw caution to the wind by digging out lots of luscious patterned papers from my stash to combine. This was also a great way to remind me to use my different border dies and punches that were very lonesome on my table.  😊

My great grandmother, I called her Grandma Jett though I haven't any idea why since Jett wasn't in her name anywhere (not surprising since I gave all my grandparents nicknames that had nothing to do with their actual names), had a small collection of teacups that I used to dust for her when I was little.  It is rather amazing that she let me anywhere near them.  I would have worried that a kid my age would have broken them!

As I type this, I have a sneaking suspicion that I may have that collection sitting in my basement storage.  If that is the case, I really should get them out.  Pretty things should be seen, not stored, or there's not point to having them!!! I'm gonna sign off now and rummage in my disaster area that I call the basement.  Maybe I'll make some tea first...

Tea Party!

This is one of my favorite stamps!  It so reminds me of coloring in coloring books as a kid and it is even better because I can keep coloring this image in different ways. :)

I had a customer request a few for her "little old ladies group", that's her quote not mine!  She wanted some birthday cards with this image and I had soooo much fun making them that I went a little nuts and made something like 10 more!  I've loaded them in my Etsy shop for Mother's Day. :)

I'll try to put a montage together later.  In the meantime, you can check out some of my previous versions here and here.  In getting this post ready I tried to find other pics of what I have done with this stamp and could only find these two!  I'm pretty surprised because I know I have used this a bunch.  I'll have to do some more searching!!

What's your favorite way to enjoy tea?  Mine might be a bit of honey in some chamomile tea just before bed. :)

Beyond Just Cards

A few weeks back I was part of a fun party hosted by Vicki at 2 Bags Full.  It was a giant hop all over Blogland to meet new peeps and grow our blogs.  For my part, I hosted a giveaway of cards.

Beth, at Beyond the Garden Gate, won the card set.  It was a "choose your own adventure" set, which is a fun way of saying she got to pick what kinda cards she wanted. :)  She asked for half birthday/ half get well.  I had a few of them in my stash ready to go, but needed a few more.  These are two of the newest creations that got added to the set and shipped out west.

Beth posted a few pics of some other cards (some of them will be familiar to you regulars!)  Along with pics of my goodies, you'll find awesome garden pictures on Beth's blog.  Her pics of flowering beauty are just the thing for making you smile.  She has the cutest lil' pup Josey, who is so stinkin' adorable in the snow, precious kitty Gracie, and a wild tortie (torties are my most FAVORITE cats) that she calls Tortie. Be sure to stop by, get inspired for the planting season we have been promised will get here soon, and give her some love!!!

Happy Garden Days!

Three Cups of Thanksgiving

I adore making Christmas cards and the thought of passing up a Christmas movie (spent all day this Sunday watching them on Hallmark- my husband tell me I have no shame LOL), but I'd like to take the spotlight and shine it on Thanksgiving while I still have the chance. :)

I'm uber tickled by how this card came out.  The idea of sipping hot tea or coffee after turkey dinner next week really makes me smile. :)
I used my Copics to color in the teacups.  The only one that you can't get the number from this pic is R27. :)  The pattern ppr is BG and the other matting is Bazzill.  Card base is good ole MB.  Ribbon is from "The Store".

Don't forget to stop by Top Tip Tuesday for the latest tut and button themed contest (love me a good button project!).

I hope the upcoming holiday finds you and yours in good spirits gathered around the table!

I'm sitting with my cuppa and this card here:

Have a cuppa

I played around with my Copics over vacation last week and am getting around to actually using some of the images I colored. LOL! :)

I tried going what I consider "a little funky" with the colors here.  I've made so many brightly colored things lately I thought it was time for a more muted look.  Maybe my brain knows that it's almost time for school to start back up and fall is around the corner.  GASP!  I haven't been back to school all summer and will likely head over today and tomorrow to assess and set up my station of the room I share.  YIKES!  Nothing like unpacking boxes, cleaning, copying, and decorating in 90+ heat.  Oh well, soon enough I'll be freezing cold and digging out those boots.  Bigger YIKES!  I digress.  On to the new candy additions!!!!
I didn't want anyone to think I had forgotten my promise to add to the blog candy kitty!  These BoBunny and Basic Grey papers are going in the goodie box and maybe...
If I get to 60 followers by August 31st this stamp set will make it in as well.  All the details for candy eligibility can be found here.

If you are itchin' to know the deets on the card above *smile*... Copics R24, 27, 29, B95, 97, 99, E00, 33, 57 and blender.  Basic Grey paper Ambrosia- Tangy, So Sophia paper Possibilities
