Eggs in One Basket- Er Hen?

Some fun Easter hens to share with you today.  Sorry for the wonky pics!  I took them on the fly with my phone.  Oh well, you get the just. ;-P I wanted to get them loaded into my Etsy shop in time for folks to get them for Easter giving.

When I saw this paper I knew I had to use this hen and Easter egg image.  It's just a too stinkin' cute combination!!!!  It looks like all the eggs are dancing.  Maybe on their way to an Easter parade?  Now that tune is going to be in my head all day. LOL!

What's a song that has been in your head a bunch lately?

Spring Blooms on Paper

Well the snow has melted, but around here that doesn't mean it won't snow again in 15 minutes! :-) Thought I'd share a pretty purple duo from last winter.

I was going through my files looking for another pic and came across a bunch of goodies I made last winter and never got to share.  Between shoveling record breaking snowfalls every other day, working, and filling Etsy orders, my poor blog got pushed to the sidelines.

These went into orders for customers who wanted variety boxes of cards (and I think I made a couple more for either Mother's Day or Easter- I'm too young to be senile already!!!!! LOL!).  I used a Unity stamp and colored them with Copies.  I don't often make anything purple these days which is funny since it was my FAVORITE color when I was a kid.  When the Care Bears came out with a purple raccoon character I was over the moon.  My favorite animal was a raccoon and my favorite color was purple.  It was like they read my mind! ;-)

Dalias are one of my favorite flowers.  Probably because I don't have much luck with them!  Most flowers will grow for me with little to no attention- even fickle roses.  Not dalias.  Lucky for me there is a little farmstand around the corner and she grows lots of flowers for bouquets.  Among the many flowers are some dalias.  I can get the benefit of the bouquet without the stress of nursing a touchy plant. ;-P

I gotta get this stamp out again.  It would look sooooooo pretty in pink and orange!

TTFN & have a great day!

Pie Day! (almost)

Morning Peeps! I was going to wait to post this until Pi Day (March 14 as in "3.14"), but this set has me so excited I can't wait that long!

This set was a request from my "work roommate".  She wanted a "pie themed" set to send notes to her daughter.  They have a long running joke about pie as a result of her being in the play The Waitress a while back.

The stamp is from a set by Unity Stamp Co.  I don't think I ever would have used this stamp if it hadn't been a request.  Now I can't stop making stuff with it!!!  I have so many plans for this image. Some of my favorite projects have been requests from friends and Etsy customers.  They really force you to think outside your regular box and it is usually pretty awesome!

The papers were almost all from a recent order from Paper Issues (LOVE their super fast shipping!)Each pie plate was paper pieced and given extra zing with some Copic markers.  The pies themselves were colored with Copics and then "sugared" with Tim Holtz distress stickles. It totally reminds me of how pie can get a sugary top when the fruit bubbles over. ;-)  The "I" in the pie is also the "o" in about, so I added either a pearl, circle rhinestone, or star rhinestone for extra fun.

I channeled the vintage feel (thanks in part to Paper Issues for supplying most of the luscious papers I used!) by listening to my The Wailin' Jennys channel on Pandora.  My DH was teasing me for listening to "old timey music" but really it was instrumental in helping me feel the vibe.  Nothing like old spirituals, bluegrass fiddles, and Irish ballads to get you into the vintage mood!

What's been in your music rotation lately?

Snowball Boys

Happy Monday!  I've got a couple birthday cards to share today.  They are cold-weather inspired and boy centric. :)

I have had these boys for AGES!  They have been sitting half done in my pile of goodies forever.  I finally assembled them onto these cards last winter. Last. Winter. Ugh.  Then I noticed that I hadn't colored the cuff of the hats.  So there they sat for another year.  Seriously?!? Well, they are done now. :-)

So what have you had sitting unfinished for a while?

Bird Sympathy

Sadly, it seems like I have needed sympathy cards more often lately.  While I lost my parents quite a few years ago, I am getting to the age where more of my friends seem to be losing a parent.

These two use an image from Memory Box and let the Copic makers doing the color layering work.  The sentiment is from Amuse and the papers are from a variety of 6x6 pads I had in my stash.  I chose the blues, khaki, and yellow for the calming hues.

I realized I have had this and a few others from this line of bird silhouette scenes, so I went back through my posts and found a bunch of Memory Box birds from over the years.  Click here to see more!

Hope this inspired you today!

Comfy Get Well

Hi Peeps!  Made a couple get well cards to share today.  I used a set from Papertrey Ink, die cut the sofas and then used copic markers to add some subtle shadows.  The card bases are just white cardstock, but I cut them to make 3.5" x 5.5" cards so the sofa image pops more.

Hope you enjoyed the cards!
