So for a while now I have been stalking the Tablescape Thursday posts at Between Naps on the Porch. Looking at all those pretty table settings. ahhhh. Ya know I've been to Biltmore a couple of times and my favorite part is the kitchen and butlers pantry tour. It's not 'cause I want to work in it. I just want to get served food on beautiful dishes. :)
I mention all of this because this is my first entry over at Tablescape Thursdays. I managed to get my table decorated on Columbus Day and got to talking to my DH about all the pretty pictures at TT. He said, "well why don't you put out the good china". Huh. He was on to something! It looks really pretty. We never use these dishes though. We inherited our good china and it's edged in gold so it all has to be hand washed. Yup, hand washed. I know me and that's just not gonna happen. LOL!
I couldn't just set the table and not add place cards!!! I went with chocolate covered apples, mostly because I LOVE chocolate. :) I used PTI's Friendship Jar Fillers. I used Copics to color the apples and then mounted them on 2 different Bo Bunny papers. I didn't put any names on since I haven;t decided when to use these fun little babies yet! Hee-hee!
Hope you enjoyed this little interlude. :)
The table is set and the goodies blogged and photoed in this post are dining here:
Between Naps on the Porch- Tablescape Thursday
The Shabby Tea Room- Chocolate covered autumn
Stamptacular Sunday Challenge- No cards allowed
Welcome to TT!!! I'm glad you stopped watching and jumped in. I did the same thing for months. I finally got my mother and sister to tablescape WITH me to give me courage to leap in. (Goofy... I know)
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I love LOVE those dishes! I think they would be well worth hand washing. They are beautiful. I'm all about the place cards too!
A lovely table!
Hello! Love the cards - I love Biltmore too! I have one of the mugs from their china - beautiful pattern - your plates are gorgeous! Cute place cards! Everything is great,

What a beautiful setting. The dishes are gorgeous! I love the place card idea and I may just do that as a special touch for Thanksgiving!
ReplyDeleteYour china is beautiful! You really should use it often! Just put on some good music when you hit those suds afterwards, and the cleanup will be a snap! I am with you on the butler's pantry thing. I've threatened for several years now to convert our laundry room (oddly positioned right off the kitchen) into a butler pantry. I don't need a butler, just the pantry!
ReplyDeleteWelcome to Tablescape Thursday! I enjoyed seeing your wonderful harvest table, and your china is so lovely! Great job on all of the details. We have a butler's pantry in our residence, and I love it because I can store of our china and crystal there... or at leaat a lot of it! ;-)
ReplyDeleteHappy Tablescape Thursday...
XO,
Sheila :-)

ReplyDeleteYour table is absolutely gorgeous and I am going to follow you so I don't miss future tables! I know handwashing the gold trimmed dishes is a pain but sometimes it is worth it, especially when the table looks like this. I have always wanted to go to the Biltmore estate and someday I will! Come visit me, as I am pretty new to this! Linda
