Bundle of Love

Happy Friday Peeps!  Thought I would take a break from my May Kit Club 2012 posts to share an uber adorable baby card.  So pull up a chair and a cuppa (we're doing iced ANYTHING in my neck of the woods.  It's going to be like 95-humid-degrees for the next few days!!!).

How super colorful and super cute is this?!? There just something so fun about mixing patterns with lots of bright pinks and yellows that makes me smile.  Come on, you're smiling right now aren't you? ;)  Hope so, that's my goal today!

We've got lots of babies in the future.  Two friends are having grandbabies, one coworker is on her last week before her baby is due, and our new next door neighbors are expecting their first very soon!  It's a good thing I like this card- I'm gonna be making a bunch!!!  Luckily, the 6x6 pad has plenty of sheets to work with in the scaled down patterns that look soooo cute on baby cards. :)

Goodies used to make this bundle smile:
My Minds Eye- Collectable- Unforgettable-Stickers
My Minds Eye- Collectable- Unforgettable- Buttons
My Minds Eye- Collectable- Unforgettable- Journal Paper
My Minds Eye- Collectable- Unforgettable- Story 6x6 Pad
The bling I used got sold out at the last big sale but I think this or this might work too! :)

Pet Update: I'm off today on an 1 1/2 hour drive to Western Mass to get Cad measured for a wheelchair. :(  We've reached that point, but the good news is that all his "medical staff" think he'll do great with a set of wheels and will gain lots more independence than he has had since last summer.  So far, so good with Amy.  She seems to be stable right now, although all she wants to eat is tuna and salmon.  Lucky for her, I like both and will happily share with her. :)

More Daisy Love

As promised, another set of cards I made using my favorite daisy stamp!  The orange centers on these are so zesty!!!  :)  It's all inspired by and mostly uses the May 2013 Kit Club kit I showed in this post.

The vibe on these is very Mad Men inspired to me.  The floral in the back seems like something I would have seen on wrought iron patio furniture cushions.  Ya know, the kind we all hated in the 80's and are now pining for? Kinda like the set I made here, or here.  So does that make it hipster? LOL!

Having grown up in Upstate New York, I had to use this button!  It's only on one, but I *heart* how it looks. :)

A Great Pear?

Just a quick post today.  I wanted to make sure to give y'all a little something though!  LOL!  Here are the next entries in the May 2013 Kit Club challenge I imposed on myself. :)  I finally used the pear stamp that I "had to have" 2 years ago and never used.  I have the die.  I've played with the die.  I've never made any complete project using any of it until now.  Yay me!  I thought these would make nice anniversary cards, engagement cards, or even a congrats for some accomplishment like getting a new house or something.

Happy Memorial Day

Today is Memorial Day, the unofficial start of summer and the official day to remember those we have lost in defense of our country. Since the weekend has been so rainy, I haven't been out gardening like usual.  Instead, I have been gardening in a whole new way!

The kit club I belong to at Ink About It came out with a new set of goods to play with this week.  The rainy weather has given me a good excuse to get craftin' and I have TONS of posts coming up to show you all he stuff I made (including another version of this daisy on Thursday) :)

Most of what I made was more aqua blue/ light green focused.  As I made my way through the papers I got to this luscious polka dot & I knew I had to make something red/white/blue for Memorial Day!  My default flower for this holiday is the daisy.   So of course I had to grab my jumbo gerber daisy stamp!  Full disclosure-- the base of the altered notepad is from the May 2012 kit.  I had covered two of them with the plaid and then never found just the right goods to top this one off, until now. :)

Hope you have a chance to thank a veteran today, make sure take a moment to remember those who have passed, and if you are lucky enough to get some warm weather/sunshine-- send it my way!!!

My Fashion Plates

Do you remember that toy, Fashion Plates?  I came across a post by Kim at her blog ART & INSPIRATION.  Her post is so spot on for how I felt about that toy.  I wanted them in the worst way for years when I was a kid.  I finally got them probably 6 months before I was "too old" to play with them 'cause it wasn't "cool" anymore. Wish I knew where they were!  Luckily I have found a new version (at least it makes me think of a newer version of FP's).

The left two tags I made way back in February at a class at Ink About It.  The one on the right I made, gosh maybe early May at a "reunion" crafting get together.  The girls were so popular that by the time any store had gotten the stamps they were sold out- I never was able to get the stamps until about a week or so ago!!!  These are soooo much fun to dress up. :)  I'm trying to get some other projects done so I can make a few more!

This is the only image I could find of all the girls you can get to play with from Prima.  I got 3 to start.  The 2nd in from the left & the last 2.  I haven't played with them all yet, I've been busy crafting though.  Hold on to your hats!  I've got lots of posts coming up this week!!

"Unforgettable" Set

I am soooo crushing on this Unforgettable paper line from My Minds Eye!  It is so easy to play with and have everything love marvelous.  It was begging to be put to use for a card set.  Card sets were also on my mind because Teacher Appreciation Week was well underway when I was crafting this set.  Teachers can ALWAYS use more blank note cards. (Hint, hint- great year end gift for your kiddos teacher).

Voila!  Each card has a white base making for a crisp frame for the Graphic 45 cardstock.  Its an awesome two tone paper that is perfect for dry embossing & sanding- which I totally took advantage of here.   The Journal Paper was great for cutting down to create and added layer of pop for the chipboard focal points.

Now the sentiments of some of these cards are best suited to a BFF, your mom, or sister.  Don't let that stop you from using some of the other chipboard shapes to create a fab thank you set for your "fav teach".  Fast, easy, outstanding.  It's an "unforgettably" wonderful set that anyone would love to get from you!

The uber goodies used from the "Eeek-I-love-it" stash you'll want to get to make your own set:
My Minds Eye- Collectable- Unforgettable - Buttons
My Minds Eye- Collectable- Unforgettable - Chipboard Shapes
My Minds Eye- Collectable- Unforgettable Story- 6X6 Pad
My Minds Eye- Collectable- Unforgettable - Journal Paper

My Minds Eye- Collectable- Unforgettable - Pins

Graphic 45- Lemon Chiffon Cardstock
Graphic 45- Precious Pink Cardstock

My Heart on the Moon

So this hasn't been my "Big Year" for blog posts.  What can I say, life happens. :)  I've made lots of (I think) fun things, but before I could take pictures I often gave (or happily sold) the goodies.  I was cleaning my creative space (again) and came across this card.

It's become a tradition to teach a valentine card class at work.  This was one of the cards we made this past snowy February.  The stamp belongs to a friend and was designed to be a "baby" image (we think).  She saw it and said wouldn't it be cute with a heart for a valentine?  If I had had my act together I would have posted this on Mother's Day 'cause I think it works for that too. :)  It could be a cute wedding card too.  Hmmm, I made need to borrow that stamp again. LOL!

Happy Friday Peeps!

Memory Jar

A couple weeks back I showed you a Treasure book I made.  I mentioned that I had a new way I was trying to record the "treasures" of the moment.

I saw the idea for putting down happy memories on bits of paper and dropping them in a jar throughout the year on Pinterest.  Probably around New Years. :)  The idea is that on New Year's Eve you pull out the papers and read/remember your good times of the year.  I used an old salsa jar, blinged it up, and then we've been writing it on scraps I punched into circles.  No reason things shouldn't be colorful!  LOL!

Hope you are having a colorful & happy mid-week!

Sweetest Holiday

Happy Monday Folks!  We've finally gotten in a groove with Amy's pain meds/cancer treatment, Cad had to go on pain meds, and I've been trying to exercise every day since I joined "The Biggest Loser" competition amongst the teachers at my school.  I did squeeze in some creative time and here is one of the things I got done!

I did well making Christmas cards a little at a time last year and it made for one less stressful part of the holidays 'cause the cards were all made before Thanksgiving.  I'm doing me best to try it again this year.  I figure each one done is one less to work on later. :)

DH is a candy fiend and he loves monochromatic cards, so of course this is his favorite Christmas card in the current 2013 collection.  I'm excited that I have enough of this peppermint paper to make at least 3-4 more of these cards. :)

The peppermint paper is from a kit I had gotten last year in a kit club where I'm a member, the stamp is one I got ages ago and have only used a few time (so glad to get to ink it up again!), and the twine is leftover from a valentine card I had made. Love when I can use my stash!

I've popped a peppermint and wandered with this card to these lovely gatherings:

You Are the Best!

Wanna have fun? Wanna chance to play with some other fun peeps?  Read more below... :)

Lori designed a fab new Chic Sketch for us to play with this month.  You can play along and join the fun (and have a chance to join us as a guest designer!). Read below to find the link to play along...

I made a card using the right half of the double page spread. :)  Instead of a larger photo, I used one of the cards on the Journal Paper.  The tricky part was what to do in place of the smaller photos.  The chipboard banners were perfect!  The ribbon and another banner, a few chipboard flowers 'n buttons- Voila!

As I was getting ready to take pictures, I realized that I forgot to take a picture of my supplies before I dove in!!  A kitchen island with a paper explosion and 6 cards later (yup, you've got at least 5 more treats to look forward to this month!), I realized how right she was about how fun this line is to work with. :)

Better grab some of these goods for yourself!  The "Unforgettable" goodies used from The Hen's Den to make this card:

My Minds Eye- Collectable- Unforgettable - Buttons
My Minds Eye- Collectable- Unforgettable - Chipboard Shapes
My Minds Eye- Collectable- Unforgettable Story- 6X6 Pad

Treasure

I thought I'd share a wicked old project.  Remember when Oprah told us about her journal where she wrote something like 10 good things about each day?  Well I thought I would do that, so I recovered a fat mini notebook years ago.  I recently found it in the drawer of my nightstand. :)

I remember that I had fun creating the sparkle of the paper with Stickles and using different ribbon scraps for the floofy edging.  I didn't follow though with the writing though. :(  I have another project that I'll share that I have used to record memories- I think y'all will like it!

Amy Update-  Sadly she was diagnosed with bladder cancer.  It's fatal in felines, but she is doing well right now.  The vet thinks we'll lose her by the end of the school year (June 28th for us this year).  Of course she also said that my husband and I work wonders with animals (got Cad kinda walking & we had a cat that lived to be 26 years old- no joke), so we could get more time.  Special medicine is coming from NJ, but in the end if the cancer doesn't get her, the medicine used to keep it at bay will trash her kidneys.  We talked about chemo, yup they can do that, but Amy is 18.  I've seen what chemo can do and given the stage she is in, I can't put her through that.  In the meantime we are spoiling her with canned cat food, catnip, and lots of ear scratching (she prefers that to lap sitting!).

Hug your furry loved ones for us today,
