Golf Tags

***UPDATE- We have power back and have heard from family in NH, ME, MA, DC, NY, & NJ.  NJ fam hit worst, some flooding & one cousin may be looking for a new apartment, but everyone healthy and safe.  Such a relief.  Hope all is well with you and yours everywhere!  Hope the post below can lift any spirits that need lifting. :)

As I type this THE FRANKENSTORM is on it's way up the coast.  No idea if I will have power when this gets posted, but I wanted to share these 'cause they are sooo dang cute!!!
These didn't get the paper piecing treatment that the card sets did, but they are still so loveable!  I had fun coloring these little wheelies. :)
I even played around with the backs to make them just as fun as the fronts. :)  That little flag is precious!
Shhh!  Don't tell the other tags, but the red ones are my favorite.   I love red and yellow together.  Maybe because it makes me think of mustard and ketchup.  And that makes me think of burgers and dogs.  And that makes me think of a cookout, which of course makes me think of summer and the beach.  Ahhhh, summer vacation.  Oh wait, you want to see more pictures.  Oh.  Okay.  I guess we can move on. ;)
So here's the whole shebang.  I'm going to load them to my Etsy Shoppe, but I'm also going to bring them to the craft fair I am in on Saturday.  Maybe one way or the other I will get them sold. :)

Happy Tuesday Everyone!

2nd Class Chance!

OMG!!!  There was such a positive response to the 5x5 class offered on Nov 10th that a sequel has been scheduled!  The second class chance is on Nov 30th (which is a Friday) from 10-1.  I know there are already peeps signed up for that date, so hopefully there is room for the folks who got shut out of the previous class.  I encourage anyone who is interested to call the store soon.  This is the last time I'll be offering this exact class.

Ghosting Bag

It's that time of the year again.  Ghosting time!  I made this goodie bag to be prepared for the ghosting that happens every year at this time. :)  You can check out the tut at The Hen's Den and while you are there don't forget to enter a project you posted on your blog from any day this October.  That's right- you pick the project AND the theme.  The name of some lucky player will be drawn at random for a chance to win goodies from The Hen's Den store!!!!   ***East Coast Folks- Hurry before we all lose power from "THE FRANKENSTORM". ;D

(The DT has posted some of their inspiration pieces in the gallery, but don't worry we won't win. ;) )

More Black Magic

Here's another Black Magic Pumpkin!  These have been fun to play around with this year. :)  Oooh, I just love using those scraps and messing around with wacky color combos- at least they are wacky for me.
I like to think Tim Gunn would say I made it work.  Not one paper was bought this year for this project.  In fact, it might be possible that everything used here is at least 2 years old.  No wait.  I lied. The aqua ribbon on the mason jar is from this summer.
Oh and the button is from last month.  So is the orange ribbon.  Humph.  Well the papers are all old dangit!  And I have posted 3 times this week.  Yahooey!

Ooops!

Well I went to take a peek at this newsletter, still playing catch up from last week, and lo and behold I hadn't posted it!! So here it is. A free magazine full of tuts for you. See if you can find my tut (typos and all!). :)
Happy Tuesday!

P.S. My class is full already!!! Thanks to all who signed up- and if you didn't get the chance- there may be another on the horizon...

I'm Teaching!

I'm very excited to announce that I am teaching a class at Ink About It in Westford!  It is a 5x5 Christmas card class, which means there are 5 different designs of cards and you'll leave the class having made 5 of each card.  So after about 3 hours you'll have 25 Christmas cards!  The designs are fairly simple because you will be making sooo many cards.

There are only 3 seats left (at least that was the case on Friday), so please get in touch with the fab crew at Ink About It to reserve your seat for the 5x5 class. :)

A Banner Birthday

Back at the beginning of September I was the "entertainment" at an 8 year old's birthday party.  Her mom set the prettiest table for the girls to enjoy their sweets after they finished their project. :)
It was one of those really warm days, so having a screened porch to enjoy when the sun set is ideal.  The girls (and I) enjoyed some punk lemonade and ice cream on this porch- don't you just love those glasses with their matchy-matchy straws!!!!!
This is the tablescape that I had going on in the dining room. :P  As the entertainment, I taught the girls how to make a name banner with rolled roses.  These girls are natural paper crafters!  It was so exciting to see them get excited to create.
This is the model they were using.  I had cut letters for each of them to make their own name, but some of them had very long names and some very short.  Luckily I had a couple moms helping the long name girls while I had small groups working on making roses.
They were so much fun to watch as the roses came to life!  Gosh I love introducing kids (and adults) to new ways of expressing creativity, maybe because I love learning about new stuff myself. :)  I ended up with leftover papers, so I have loaded a banner into my Etsy Shoppe.  Instead of a name banner, it is a "celebrate" banner.  Pop over to check it out! :)

I'm all decorated for the party here:

Witchy Boots

I'm one of those gals that loves shoes.  All kinds of shoes- excepts super ugly ones, although my husband and I differ in opinion as to what ugly shoes are!  LOL! I would totally wear these witchy-poo boots- at least on Halloween. :)
This card was so much fun to make!  I love that it is a different color than the typical orange and black for Halloween.  The image is from PTI- Friendship Jar Fall Fillers, the sentiment is from Amuse, the washi tape is Bella Blvd, and the paper is from the scrap pile I like to call my studio these days.  Seriously, it looks like a bomb went off in there!
There is a little sparkle that you can see IRL, but I couldn't seem to capture it well on film- or should I say on pixels?  What do we say these days since we don't use film much anymore?

Hope you have a delightful, rather than frightful, Tuesday.  Wish me luck.  I have my first parent conference of the year this morning! :)

Tee-riffic!

While I was supposed to be working on some other things, this golf cart called me to play.  I don't play golf myself.  I'd rather whack at the balls at the driving range, mostly because my aim leaves something to be desired.  Getting into that little hole is hard for me when we play putt-putt! :)
That cart, that fun little cart!  It's sooooo stinkin' cute!  I spent Wednesday night messing around with the stamp and papers.  I think I was trying to pretend that the sun was going to shine at some point soon.  LOL!  I guess I can't complain too much.  We did have some nice weather yesterday- blue skies and everything. :)
I made enough of these to box up 4 sets.  I'm selling at a craft fair this fall and hopefully these will be a hit.  Just in case, I loaded them to my Etsy Shoppe too. ;)

Pumpkins and Acorns

I've got a fun banner tutorial over at The Hen's Den today.  Please stop by and let me know what you think. :)

In the meantime, I managed to get some place cards finished.  Folks at work liked these last year, so I thought I would make a few more sets.
One set down and several more to go!  I'm spending the afternoon/evening at my LSS supposedly getting more sets finished.  First I need to get everything prepped! :)  Actually really first I need to eat breakfast and finish my coffee.  Amy and Cad both had vet appointments today.  Luckily it is about 5 minutes away, so I could take each one separately.  Between her howling and his whining- I can't handle having both of them together.  (I'm a wuss I know!)  Both are doing well, although Cad is a little overweight so he's back to carrot sticks for treats. Good thing he like those!

Well off to prep!  Have a great Friday!

Black Magic Pumpkin

Yahooey!  In spite of coming down with some kinda cold, I have another card to show you! Is it the project I am supposed to be working on right now?  No.  Have I put away all the goods I got out to work with this weekend whilst in Maine?  No.  Can I even find the stuff I need right now.  Ummm, well, after looking around n (read tossing around everything) for about an hour, it turns out that the stuff I was looking for was literally- no I really mean literally- right in front of me.  Huh.  Head colds are a *beeping* inconvenience.  Who put one on my calendar?  Not nice.
I'm obsessed with this button.  It's one of MFT's new button lines- Tangy Orange.  It's soooo yummy!  I'm sure my body isn't craving vitamin c or anything right now. :)  Oh seriously I need to go get a glass of OJ this instant!
My great pumpkin here is heat embossed *gasp* I throwback technique, I know.  What's old is new again!  For a totally different take on this ginormous gourd click HERE.  It's so satisfying when I can use a stamp to achieve opposite aesthetics.  Makes me feel like Wonder Stamper!  I wonder what her costume would look like?  It would be a pretty cool Halloween costume though. :)  Maybe I should to write to Heidi and Tim.  They could make it a challenge. LOL!

Hugs to you all!

Gathering the Corn

This is one of my favorite times of the year, in spite of the fact I don't like the cold that much.  What can I say?  I'm a complex woman. LOL!  When the weather changes it's fun to get out those sweaters 'n sneakers.  Cozy!  Heat up apple cider with some mulling spices.  Yum!  Decorate for fall.  Pretty!  Rake leaves.  NOT!  :)  Well today I thought I'd share a card I made this summer while I was in a foul fall mood during the heat wave.
This is one of my favorite Impression Obsession images.  I've made a bazillion cards using this image, although now that I think about it I've only colored it as flint corn, not sweet corn.  Hmmm.  Wonder how it will look colored in to look like sun and stars corn?  I'm getting hungry!
I love how the grey makes the image pop a little more.  **Stepping on to my soapbox** I've heard from a few friends that this type of "shadowing" (outlining with gray) is considered declasse by some coloring purists.  Whatever.  Pretty is pretty and I like this look. :)  Also it's an easy way to umph up.  That being said it is a look that could get overdone.  But long story short, to each his own. **Stepping off soapbox**

So any big plans for the week?  My goal is to get 2 or 3 more posts up this week.  Fingers crossed!
