A Wells Tablescape

My goodness I have been sitting on this tablescape for some time now!  Our beloved friend Jeff took these pictures when he and his wife Erin came up for a visit at our cottage Memorial Day weekend.  He is such an amazing photographer!  We all keep telling him he needs to start his own blog. :)
When we bought this cottage it came furnished and this table had the platter and faux tulips.  My DMIL found the seashell salt 'n pepper shakers for us.  The cottage has a lemon, pale blue, spring green color scheme throughout.  Very relaxing.
My mom had made four placemats years ago when I had first gotten my own place.  They aren't my colors typically, but they are beautiful and my mom made them so of course I kept them.  They are a perfect match for the cottage!  She musta' known I would need them someday. :)
The cottage did not come with a stocked kitchen, so we had fun buying dishes 'n such at the local Rene's.  Nothing fancy or expensive 'cause we rent out this cottage from the beginning of June to the end of August and we didn't want the renters (or us) to worry when dishes got broken.  Noticed I said when- we know either we will break something or someone else will. :)  Vacation time shouldn't be spent worried about stuff, it should be about making fun memories.
Thanks for stopping by today!  Hope you enjoyed this tablescape.  I'm off to see all your inspirational posts...

Oh before I go, here's where I set my table:

Pinterest inspiration

Shortly before Easter I got sucked into the Pinterest black hole. :)  Not long after that I was able to join and begin pinning to my hearts content.  My favorite part of Pinterest is all the color palettes I've begun pinning...

Sometimes your mojo needs a little boost and color palettes do that for me.  This one right here is just so yummy!  I gotta get busy using this. :)

This palette is so romantic and fresh.   Wouldn't you love to be at this table. :)

This one is inspiring me at the moment.  I've got an idea, we'll see if I end up following through on it.  In the meantime, y'all should get your mojo in gear for another fab week at Top Tip Tuesday!  It's a double team week full of tips and creations from both the teams at TTT.

As always, let me know if you have entered and if anything here inspired you! I'd love to check out what you have created. :)

Chihuly- A must see

I know I have been MIA lately, I'm busy whipping up some new fun stuff I promise. :)  In the meantime, I wanted to share a couple pics from the Chihuly exhibit I got to check out at the Boston MFA.
Tom's job had an event at the MFA and we all got the chance to dress up and pretend to be bigshots for the night. :)  The Chihuly exhibit was the highlight because, well, it's such a beautiful exhibit and the crowds were much smaller than usual.
My pics aren't the best and I have to say if you get the chance to see anything Chihuly, go for it!  His work is so striking and inspirational.
It's like walking into a Dr. Seuss story. :)  Looking at how the "chandelier" pieces are assembled, it must take hours to put each one together.  There are literally hundreds of individual pieces making up those spiky creations.
Even if you don't live near Boston check out Chihuly here at Wikipedia for a list of all his permanent collections.  Trust me, you won't be disappointed. :)

I Heart Seafood!

Happy Flag Day in the USA and it's Top Tip Tuesday Time!  We have some great new TTT Team members that we are debuting today!  If you want to skip to fun TTT stuff scroll down to 'til you see the ***.  If you'd like to see what inspired my creation, start here. :)
At the end of April I was starting to get that summertime bug.  We are fortunate to have family up in Maine and a summer seasonal property that we rent out that opens up there in May.  Luckily for me, I came across the most lovely Etsy shoppe Three Sisters Harvest and she had just the ticket to get me ready!  My package came in such sweet wrapping, my icky picture doesn't do it justice- Gigi tied each package so beautifully with shells for bows!!!

Each one of the packages had a HUGE (perfect for the beach IMHO) canvas bag with a lobster, but each one has a different color shell.  I kept one and sent the others to my DMIL and DSIL for us to all use when we get together for our family reunion up in ME this August.  I, of course, started using mine for a school bag as soon as I got it. LOL!  The best part- I convo'd Gigi on Saturday, she came up with this design (based off this bag she had made), made all of them, and I had them in my hot little hands by the following Saturday.  She's AMAZING!!!

I used Gigi's bags as inspiration...
to create this card!
Okay so it's a shrimp, not a full-fledged lobster, but how fun is this?!? :)
It's a Fred Mullet shrimp stamp that I "inked" with Twinkling H2O's.  It took a few tries before I had quite the consistency of H2O's that I was looking for, but this is such a fun technique to try!  The flourish stamp was meant to kinda mimic waves (I know, a bit of a stretch).

So to celebrate our new DT members over at TTT we are hosting an Anything Goes Challenge!!!!!  You totally have to join in the fun!  You could win goodies from Robyns Fetish (they are offering our lucky winner 4 stamps of their choice) or from Stitchy Bear Stamps  (1 prize of a $10 voucher).  Come on over and show us whatcha got.  Pretty pleeeeeaaaaaassssseeeee! :)

Also, don't forget to join in the fun with my blog candy----Become a follower and leave a comment in order to win okay?!?!

Sweetness!

So I finally got some free time this week to play in my studio!  Yippee!  I've had this stamp for a couple of weeks and it's been killing me that I've had other things I needed to finish before this little darling could get inked. :P
This card went in a COMPLETELY different direction than my original concept, and frankly I'm thrilled. :)  I had thought of going all red, green, yellow, farmy, picnicy (ala this) but the pink really ended up speaking to me so much more.
The envie wanted some ink too, so of course I obliged. LOL!  Naked envies are good sometimes, but you have to admit a decorated envelope does bring many smile. Ahhhh...
This Unity stamp set comes with this fun sentiment too and how cool is that?!?!  The papers are a mix of Basic Grey, Echo Park, and Crate Paper.  I just adore this combination!!!!  Strawberries for dessert sounds good right now. ;)

I've cut up a bowl of strawberries, pulled up a chair and posted my sweets here:

Multi-fold Challenge

It's another Tip Top Tuesday!
So this week the challenge is to use multiple folds.  Wait, you don't see that here on this get well card?!?  Oh yeah, that's 'cause I'm a little tricky like that. :)
I put the other folds inside the card by using an envie to hold some packets of tea inside the card.  I thought this would make a good gift card for a sick friend.  Can you believe that with only 11 days left of school we have a strep throat outbreak?????  Seriously!  It's running around tagging some kids a teachers in the rooms I work in at my school.  Wacky I tell ya, wacky.  Lucky for me I don't get strep (knock on wood).  I'm one-ah those oh-so-nice folks who is a carrier not a catcher. LOL!  But I digress...
I promised a pick of the new 'do!  Told ya it was short!  I've got 6 mini ponytails to send to Pantene where they will combine them with 5 other big ponytails to make someone a great wig.  I'll talk more about that later (and show pics of just how short it is in the back- seriously it's more short than you think).  ;)

This week Heike created a fantastic tut over at TTT to go with the Multi-fold theme.  Add your creation to the mix and you could win one of these great prizes below:
